RAHASIA KEKUATAN ROHANI
Yesus mendekati mereka dan berkata: “Kepada-Ku telah diberikan segala kuasa di sorga dan di bumi.” Matius 28:18
Dia telah berjanji bahwa Dia akan memberikan kuasa ini kepada para pekerja-Nya. Kuasa-Nya akan menjadi kuasa mereka. Mereka harus menghubungkan jiwa mereka dengan Allah. Kristus menghendaki semua orang menikmati kekayaan kasih karunia-Nya, yang tak terkira. Kekayaan itu tidak terbatas, tak habis-habisnya. Kekayaan itu menjadi milik kita melalui perjanjian kekal jika kita mau bekerja bersama Allah. Kekayaan itu menjadi milik kita jika kita mau bersatu dengan-Nya untuk membawa banyak jiwa kepada Allah. 18LtMs, Ms 46, 1903, par. 29.
Doa adalah napas jiwa. Itulah rahasia kekuatan rohani. Tidak ada cara lain yang dapat menyegarkan kasih karunia dan menjaga kesehatan jiwa. Doa membawa hati ke dalam perhubungan langsung dengan Sumber Kehidupan, dan memperkuat urat dan otot pengalaman kerohanian. Mengabaikan doa, atau berdoa secara tidak teratur, atau sesekali, atau sesuai keinginan saja, maka engkau akan kehilangan peganganmu pada Allah. Kemampuan rohani kehilangan kuasanya, pengalaman rohani tidak lagi sehat dan bersemangat….
Sungguh luar biasa bahwa kita dapat berdoa dengan efektif, bahwa manusia yang tidak layak dan berdosa memiliki kekuatan untuk menyampaikan permohonan mereka kepada Allah. Kekuatan yang lebih tinggi apakah yang dapat diinginkan manusia selain daripada ini,—yakni untuk dapat bersekutu dengan Allah yang tak terbatas? Manusia yang lemah dan berdosa sekalipun memiliki hak istimewa untuk berkomunikasi kepada Penciptanya. Kita dapat mengucapkan kata-kata yang sampai ke takhta Raja alam semesta. Kita dapat bercakap-cakap dengan Yesus saat kita berjalan di jalan itu, dan Dia pun berkata, Aku di sebelah kanan-Mu.—(MYP 249, 250.) Pr 12.4 – 13.1.
Kehidupan Juruselamat di bumi adalah kehidupan persekutuan dengan alam dan dengan Allah. Dalam persekutuan ini Dia menyingkapkan bagi kita rahasia kehidupan yang penuh kuasa.—(CH 162.) Pr 173.1.
The Secret of Spiritual Power
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18
He has promised that He will give this power to His workers. His power is to become their power. They are to link their souls with God. Christ desires all to enjoy the wealth of His grace, which is beyond all computation. It is limitless, exhaustless. It is ours by eternal covenant if we will be workers together with God. It is ours if we will unite with Him to bring many sons and daughters to God. 18LtMs, Ms 46, 1903, par. 29.
Prayer is the breath of the soul. It is the secret of spiritual power. No other means of grace can be substituted and the health of the soul be preserved. Prayer brings the heart into immediate contact with the Wellspring of life, and strengthens the sinew and muscle of the religious experience. Neglect the exercise of prayer, or engage in prayer spasmodically, now and then, as seems convenient, and you lose your hold on God. The spiritual faculties lose their vitality, the religious experience lacks health and vigor….
It is a wonderful thing that we can pray effectually, that unworthy, erring mortals possess the power of offering their requests to God. What higher power can man desire than this,—to be linked with the infinite God? Feeble, sinful man has the privilege of speaking to his Maker. We may utter words that reach the throne of the Monarch of the universe. We may speak with Jesus as we walk by the way, and He says, I am at thy right hand.—(Messages to Young People, 249, 250.) Pr 12.4 – Pr 13.1.
The Saviour’s life on earth was a life of communion with nature and with God. In this communion He revealed for us the secret of a life of power.—(Counsels on Health, 162.) Pr 173.1.
