SURAT KRISTUS
“Karena telah ternyata, bahwa kamu adalah surat Kristus, yang ditulis oleh pelayanan kami, ditulis bukan dengan tinta, tetapi dengan Roh dari Allah yang hidup, bukan pada loh-loh batu, melainkan pada loh-loh daging, yaitu di dalam hati manusia.” 2 Korintus 3:3.
Dalam diri setiap anak-anak-Nya, Yesus mengirimkan surat kepada dunia. Jika engkau adalah pengikut Kristus, Ia mengirimkan surat kepada keluarga, desa, jalan, tempat engkau tinggal. Yesus, yang tinggal di dalam dirimu, rindu untuk berbicara kepada hati orang-orang yang tidak mengenal-Nya. Mungkin mereka belum membaca Alkitab, atau belum mendengar suara yang berbicara kepada mereka di halaman-halamannya; mereka belum melihat kasih Allah melalui karya-karya-Nya. Namun, jika engkau adalah wakil sejati Yesus, mungkin melalui engkaulah mereka akan dituntun untuk memahami sesuatu tentang kebaikan-Nya dan dimenangkan untuk turut mengasihi dan melayani-Nya. Hal-hal duniawi akan segera berakhir. Hal ini tidak disadari oleh mereka yang belum memperoleh pencerahan ilahi, yang belum mengikuti langkah pekerjaan Allah. Pria dan wanita yang telah menyerahkan diri harus pergi untuk menyuarakan peringatan di jalan-jalan raya dan lorong-lorong. Saya mendesak saudara-saudari saya untuk tidak terlibat dalam pekerjaan yang akan menghalangi mereka untuk memberitakan Injil Kristus. Engkau adalah juru bicara Allah. Engkau harus menyampaikan kebenaran dalam kasih kepada jiwa-jiwa yang sedang binasa. “Pergilah ke semua jalan dan lintasan dan paksalah orang-orang, yang ada di situ, masuk, karena rumahku harus penuh.” [Lukas 14:23.] Bukankah kata-kata ini dengan jelas menguraikan pekerjaan seorang juru kabar? Dengan Kristus di dalam hatinya, ia harus pergi ke jalan-jalan raya dan lorong-lorong kehidupan, memberikan undangan untuk pesta perjamuan itu. Orang-orang kaya dan berpengaruh akan datang jika mereka diundang. Sebagian memang akan menolak, tetapi syukur kepada Allah, tidak semuanya demikian. 18LtMs, Ms 46, 1903, par. 25.
“Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.” 2 Corinthians 3:3.
In every one of His children, Jesus sends a letter to the world. If you are Christ’s follower, He sends in you a letter to the family, the village, the street, where you live. Jesus, dwelling in you, desires to speak to the hearts of those who are not acquainted with Him. Perhaps they do not read the Bible, or do not hear the voice that speaks to them in its pages; they do not see the love of God through His works. But if you are a true representative of Jesus, it may be that through you they will be led to understand something of His goodness and be won to love and serve Him. SC 115.1.
The things of this world are soon to parish. This is not discerned by those who have not been divinely enlightened, who have not kept pace with the work of God. Consecrated men and women must go forth to sound the warning in the highways and the byways. I urge my brethren and sisters not to engage in work that will hinder them from proclaiming the gospel of Christ. You are God’s spokesmen. You are to speak the truth in love to perishing souls. “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that My house may be filled,” Christ says. [Luke 14:23.] Do not these words plainly outline the work of the canvasser? With Christ in his heart he is to go out into the highways and byways of life, giving the invitation to the marriage supper. Men of wealth and influence will come in if they are invited. Some will refuse, but thank God, not all. 18LtMs, Ms 46, 1903, par. 25.
