BANGKIT DAN MENJADI TERANG
“Bangkitlah, menjadi teranglah, sebab terangmu datang, dan kemuliaan TUHAN terbit atasmu. Sebab sesungguhnya, kegelapan menutupi bumi, dan kekelaman menutupi bangsa-bangsa; tetapi terang TUHAN terbit atasmu, dan kemuliaan-Nya menjadi nyata atasmu.” Yesaya 60:1-2.
“Terang kebenaran harus bersinar sampai ke ujung bumi. Terang yang lebih besar dan semakin besar lagi sedang bersinar dengan terang surgawi dari wajah Sang Penebus kepada para wakil-Nya, untuk disebarkan melalui kegelapan dunia yang gelap. Sebagai pekerja bersama-Nya, marilah kita berdoa untuk pengudusan Roh-Nya, agar kita dapat semakin terang bersinar dan lebih bersinar lagi.” —8:40.1, SpTB04 18.1.
“Terang kebenaran untuk masa ini kini sedang bersinar atas rak-rak buku para Raja. Perhatian para negarawan sedang diarahkan kepada Alkitab,—yang adalah kitab undang-undang bangsa-bangsa,—dan mereka sedang membandingkan hukum nasional mereka dengan undang-undangnya. Sebagai wakil Kristus, kita tidak boleh membuang-buang waktu. Upaya kita tidak boleh dibatasi pada beberapa tempat saja di mana terang telah menjadi begitu berlimpah sehingga tidak dihargai. Pekabaran Injil harus diberitakan sampai kepada semua bangsa dan suku dan bahasa dan kaum.” 8T 40.2.
“Kecuali anggota jemaat bangkit dan menjadi terang, maka Tuhan Allah akan meminta pertanggungjawaban mereka. Dia ingin agar dalam segala hal setiap orang berada di tempat tugasnya. Setiap orang harus menjadi cerdas mengenai bakatnya, dan mengabdikan segenap dirinya kepada Allah, baik jiwa, tubuh, dan rohnya. Allah telah memberikan kepada setiap orang pekerjaannya. Tidak boleh ada pemalas di kebun anggur Allah. Maukah jemaat bangkit dan menjadi terang?” 12LtMs, Ms 179, 1897, par. 7.
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1-2.
“The light of truth is to shine to the ends of the earth. Greater and still greater light is beaming with celestial brightness from the Redeemer’s face upon His representatives, to be diffused through the darkness of a benighted world. As laborers together with Him, let us pray for the sanctification of His Spirit, that we may shine more and more brightly.” —Testimonies for the Church 8:40. SpTB04 18.1.
“The light of truth for this time is now shining upon the cabinets of Kings. The attention of statesmen is being called to the Bible,—the statute book of the nations,—and they are comparing their national laws with its statutes. As representatives for Christ we have no time to lose. Our efforts are not to be confined to a few places where the light has become so abundant that it is not appreciated. The gospel message is to be proclaimed to all nations and kindreds and tongues and peoples.” 8T 40.2.
“Unless the members of the church shall arise and shine, the Lord God will bring them to an account. He wants that in every sense of the word every man shall be at his post of duty. Everyone is to become intelligent as to what his talents are, and consecrate himself to God, soul, body, and spirit. The Lord has given to every man his work. There are to be no idlers in the Lord’s vineyard. Will the church arise and shine?” 12LtMs, Ms 179, 1897, par. 7.
