APAKAH KITA MEMANG TELAH MENJADI PENGIKUT KRISTUS?
“Barangsiapa melayani Aku, ia harus mengikut Aku dan di mana Aku berada, di situ pun pelayan-Ku akan berada. Barangsiapa melayani Aku, ia akan dihormati Bapa.” Yohanes 12:26.
“Apa yang Kristus katakan kepada murid-murid-Nya?—”Barangsiapa melayani Aku, ia harus mengikut Aku.” [Yohanes 12:26.] Inilah aturan yang diberikan dalam Firman Allah. Dengan mempelajari kehidupan Kristus, biarlah para pekerja mengetahui bagaimana Ia hidup dan bekerja. Biarlah mereka berusaha setiap hari untuk menjalani kehidupan Kristus, berusaha untuk mengetahui jalan Allah. Satu-satunya aturan yang harus mereka ikuti adalah hidup sebagaimana Yesus hidup, dan setiap hari memandang kepada-Nya dengan iman. Sewaktu mereka mengenakan kuk-Nya dan mempelajari kelemahlembutan dan kerendahan hati-Nya, maka mereka sedang berada di jalan yang menuntun ke surga.” 15LtMs, Ms 75, 1900, par. 9.
“Para pengikut Kristus harus melatih diri mereka untuk mengikut, bukan untuk memimpin. Berjaga-jagalah dan berdoalah, jangan sampai engkau jatuh ke dalam pencobaan. Setan akan enggan kehilangan mangsanya, tetapi Allah adalah lebih kuat dari Setan dan semua malaikat jahatnya. Jika kamu tidak mau maju untuk memimpin mengikuti jalanmu sendiri, jika kamu mau berjalan mengikuti jejak Kristus, maka kebingungan pikiran akan meninggalkanmu. Seperti dirimu sekarang, engkau perlu dituntun dalam hal-hal rohani. Semoga Tuhan Allah surga menguatkanmu dengan segala pengertian rohani, sehingga kamu dapat menjadi pemenang. Setan telah memainkan permainan kehidupan untuk jiwamu, tetapi Kristus akan menjadi ketepatgunaanmu, penolongmu yang kuat, jika engkau sekarang akan melakukan apa yang telah engkau katakan—berserah, berserah sepenuhnya. …”
“Bekerjalah ke atas; dengan segenap pikiran, hati, dan jiwa, bekerjalah ke atas. Para pengikut Kristus harus melatih diri mereka untuk mempraktikkan jalan-jalan-Nya. Sebagai orang-orang yang telah menyerahkan segalanya kepada Allah, dan telah menempatkan diri mereka sepenuhnya di pihak Allah, mereka harus bekerja untuk masa kini dan masa depan.” 19LtMs, Lt 289, 1904, par. 6-7.
“If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.” John 12:26.
“What did Christ say to His disciples?—”If any man serve me, let him follow me.” [John 12:26.] This is the rule given in the Word of God. By studying the life of Christ, let the workers find out how He lived and worked. Let them strive each day to live the life of Christ, seeking to know the way of the Lord. The one rule they are to follow is to live as Jesus lived, daily looking to Him by faith. As they wear His yoke and learn His meekness and lowliness they are in the path that leads heavenward.” 15LtMs, Ms 75, 1900, par. 9.
“Christ’s disciples are to train themselves to follow, not to lead. Watch and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. Satan will be loath to lose his prey, but the Lord is stronger than Satan and all his evil angels. If you will not press in to take the lead, and to follow your own way, if you will walk in Christ’s steps, this confusion of mind will leave you. As you are now, you need to be led in spiritual things. May the Lord God of heaven strengthen you with all spiritual understanding, that you may be a victor. Satan has been playing the game of life for your soul, but Christ will be your efficiency, your strong helper, if you will now do just as you have said—surrender, entirely surrender. …”
“Work upward; with mind and heart and soul, work upward. Christ’s followers are to train themselves to practice His ways. As those who have surrendered all to God, and have placed themselves wholly on the Lord’s side, they are to work for the present and for the future.” 19LtMs, Lt 289, 1904, par. 6-7.
