MEMOHONKAN HATI YANG BERSIH
“Jadikanlah hatiku tahir, ya Allah, dan perbaharuilah batinku dengan roh yang teguh!” Mazmur 51:12.
“Mengenai pekerjaan dan tugas kita dalam hidup ini, kita harus tulus, benar, tidak egois; karena Allah melihat hati. Doa dapat dipanjatkan kepada Allah, “Jadikanlah (ciptakanlah) hatiku tahir (bersih), ya Allah.” [Mazmur 51:12 (ayat 10 KJV)] Demi kepentingan kekal kita, inilah yang harus terjadi, yaitu hati yang tahir (bersih), murni, dan suci.” 4LtMs, Lt 10, 1886, par. 33.
“Salah satu doa yang paling sungguh-sungguh yang tercatat dalam Firman Allah adalah doa Daud ketika ia memohon, “Jadikanlah hatiku tahir, ya Allah, …” (Mazmur 51:12 (ayat 10 KJV)). Tanggapan Allah terhadap doa seperti itu adalah, Hati yang baru akan Kuberikan kepadamu. Ini adalah pekerjaan yang tidak dapat dilakukan oleh manusia yang terbatas. Pria dan wanita harus memulainya dari awal, dengan mencari Allah dengan sangat sungguh-sungguh untuk dapat memperoleh pengalaman Kristen yang sejati. Mereka harus merasakan kuasa perubahan Roh Kudus. Mereka harus menerima hati yang baru, yang harus dijaga agar tetap lemah lembut dan rendah hati oleh kasih karunia surga. Roh yang egois harus dibersihkan dari jiwa. Mereka harus bekerja dengan sungguh-sungguh dan dengan kerendahan hati, masing-masing mencari Yesus untuk mendapatkan bimbingan dan dorongan. Maka bangunan itu, yang disusun dengan baik dan rapih, akan tumbuh menjadi bait suci yang kudus di dalam Allah.” 22LtMs, Lt 224, 1907, par. 6.
“Biarlah jemaat-jemaat kita di setiap tempat berpuasa dan berdoa, setiap orang merendahkan hatinya di hadapan Allah. Janganlah berusaha merendahkan jiwa saudara atau saudarimu, tetapi biarlah masing-masing meluruskan hatinya di hadapan Allah. Akui dosamu satu sama lain, dan saling mendoakan. Teruslah berdoa sampai kuk dipatahkan dari leher saudara-saudara kita dan keinginan untuk memerintah telah padam. Berdoalah agar Allah menjadi Pemimpin dan Pembimbing umat-Nya.” 22LtMs, Lt 224, 1907, par. 13.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10.
“In regard to our work and duty in this life, we should be sincere, true, unselfish; for God looketh upon the heart. The prayer may well go up to God, “Create in me a clean heart.” [Psalm 51:10.] It is for our eternal interest that this should be, that the heart is clean, pure, and holy.” 4LtMs, Lt 10, 1886, par. 33.
“One of the most earnest prayers recorded in the Word of God is that of David when he plead, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” [Psalm 51:10.] God’s response to such a prayer is, “A new heart will I give you.” [Ezekiel 36:26.] This is a work that no finite man can do. Men and women are to begin at the beginning, seeking God most earnestly for a true Christian experience. They are to feel the creative power of the Holy Spirit. They are to receive the new heart that is kept soft and tender by the grace of heaven. The selfish spirit is to be cleansed from the soul. They are to labor earnestly and with humility of heart, each one looking to Jesus for guidance and encouragement. Then the building, fitly framed together, will grow into a holy temple in the Lord.” 22LtMs, Lt 224, 1907, par. 6.
“Let our churches in every place fast and pray, each man humbling his own heart before the Lord. Do not seek to humble the soul of your brother or sister, but let each set his own heart right before God. Confess your sins one to another, and pray one for another. Continue to pray until the yokes are all broken from the necks of our brethren and the desire to rule has been quenched. Pray that the Lord shall become the Leader and Guide of His people.” 22LtMs, Lt 224, 1907, par. 13.***
