JANJI KARUNIA ROH KUDUS YANG MASIH KURANG DIPERHATIKAN JEMAAT
“Tetapi Penghibur, yaitu Roh Kudus, yang akan diutus oleh Bapa dalam nama-Ku, Dialah yang akan mengajarkan segala sesuatu kepadamu dan akan mengingatkan kamu akan semua yang telah Kukatakan kepadamu.” Yohanes 14:26.
“Mencari agen yang paling kuat untuk dikirim guna membantu para murid ketika Ia tidak lagi bersama mereka, Kristus berjanji untuk mengirimkan Roh-Nya kepada mereka.” 17LtMs, Ms 117, 1902, par. 13.
“Janji Roh diberikan kepada kita sama pastinya seperti yang diberikan kepada para murid dahulu. Allah siap memberi kita kuasa yang telah Ia berikan kepada mereka. Adalah tujuan-Nya bahwa kebenaran akan memiliki pengaruh yang mengangkat dan memuliakan hati manusia, bahwa melalui perenungan Firman-Nya pikiran akan terus meningkat dalam kuasa dan nilai. Saat kita terus maju untuk memahami kebenaran, Allah memberi penerima Firman-Nya, kebenaran yang lebih besar dan lebih besar lagi, memurnikan dan memuliakan dia, membawanya semakin dekat dengan kesempurnaan, sampai ia dinyatakan telah sepenuhnya sempurna di dalam Kristus—standar kesempurnaan.” 17LtMs, Ms 117, 1902, par. 14.
“Roh Kudus adalah ketepatgunaan dan kuasa bagi semua hamba Allah.” 17LtMs, Ms 117, 1902, par. 19.
“Roh Kuduslah yang akan mengingatkan kita akan perkataan Kristus. Tema yang dipilih Kristus untuk dibahas dalam pembicaraan terakhirnya kepada para murid-Nya adalah tentang kuasa Roh Kudus. Ia membukakan bagi mereka sebidang kebenaran yang luas. Mereka harus menerima perkataan-Nya dengan iman, dan Sang Penghibur, yakni Roh Kudus, akan mengingatkan mereka akan segala sesuatu. Penghiburan yang diberikan oleh Kristus dalam janji ini ditemukan dalam kenyataan bahwa pengaruh ilahi akan menyertai para pengikut-Nya sampai akhir. Namun, janji ini tidak diterima dan dipercayai oleh orang-orang sekarang ini, dan karena itu tidak dihargai oleh mereka, maka penggenapannya juga tidak terlihat dalam pengalaman jemaat. Janji tentang karunia Roh Allah dibiarkan sebagai hal yang masih kurang diperhatikan oleh jemaat. Janji itu tidak ditekankan kepada jemaat, dan akibatnya pun terjadilah —kekeringan rohani, kegelapan rohani, kemerosotan rohani, dan kematian rohani. Hal-hal sia-sia memenuhi pikiran dan jiwa, tetapi kuasa ilahi yang diperlukan untuk pertumbuhan dan kemakmuran jemaat, yang jika dimiliki, akan mendatangkan segala berkat-berkat lainnya yang menyertainya, malah masih kurang, meskipun telah ditawarkan kepada kita dalam kelimpahan yang tak terbatas. Selama jemaat hanya merasa puas dengan hal-hal kecil saja, maka jemaat tidak memenuhi syarat untuk menerima hal-hal besar yang dari Allah.” HM 1 November 1893, Pasal A, par. 25.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26.
“Seeking for the most powerful agency to send to the aid of the disciples when He should no longer be with them, Christ promised to send them His Spirit.” 17LtMs, Ms 117, 1902, par. 13.
“The promise of the Spirit is made to us just as surely as it was made to the disciples. God stands ready to give us the power that He gave them. It is His purpose that the truth shall have an uplifting, ennobling influence on human hearts, that by the contemplation of His Word the mind shall constantly increase in power and value. As we press forward to grasp the truth, God gives the receiver greater and still greater revelations of truth, purifying and ennobling him, bringing him nearer and nearer perfection, until he is pronounced complete in Christ—the standard of perfection.” 17LtMs, Ms 117, 1902, par. 14.

“It is the Holy Spirit that is to bring to our remembrance the words of Christ. The theme Christ chose to dwell upon in his last discourse to his disciples was that of the office of the Holy Spirit. He opened before them a wide tract of truth. They were to receive his words by faith, and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, was to bring all things to their remembrance. The consolation given by Christ in this promise was found in the fact that the divine influence was to be with his followers to the end. But this promise is not accepted and believed by the people today, and therefore is not cherished by them, nor is its fulfillment seen in the experience of the church. The promise of the gift of the Spirit of God is left as a matter to be little considered by the church. It is not impressed upon the people, and the result is only that which might be expected,—spiritual drought, spiritual darkness, spiritual declension and death. Minor matters occupy the mind and soul, but divine power which is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, which would if possessed, bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, although it is offered to us in infinite plenitude. Just as long as the church is satisfied with small things, it is disqualified to receive the great things of God.” HM November 1, 1893, Art. A, par. 25.
