PERINGATAN TENTANG BAHAYA LEBIH BESAR YANG KITA HADAPI
“Semuanya ini telah menimpa mereka sebagai contoh dan dituliskan untuk menjadi peringatan bagi kita yang hidup pada waktu, di mana zaman akhir telah tiba.” 1 Korintus 10:11.
“Rasul Paulus dengan jelas menyatakan bahwa pengalaman orang Israel dalam perjalanan mereka telah dicatat untuk kepentingan orang-orang yang hidup di masa sekarang dunia ini. …” RH 14 Maret 1899, par. 11.
“Bahaya yang kita sedang hadapi tidaklah lebih kecil, tetapi lebih besar, daripada yang telah dihadapi oleh orang Ibrani dahulu. Akan ada godaan ataupun ujian-ujian untuk bersikap iri hati dan bersungut-sungut, dan akan ada pemberontakan yang terang-terangan, sebagaimana yang tercatat tentang Israel dahulu. Orang Ibrani dahulu itu tidak mau tunduk pada petunjuk dan larangan Allah. Mereka ingin mengikuti jalan mereka sendiri, mengikuti tuntunan pikiran mereka sendiri, dan dikendalikan oleh penilaian mereka sendiri. Namun, Allah ingin agar umat-Nya didisiplinkan, dan dibawa ke dalam keselarasan perbuatan yang harmonis, agar mereka dapat memiliki pikiran dan penilaian yang sama.” RH 14 Maret 1899, par. 12.
“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” 1 Corinthians 10:11.
