OBAT BAGI JIWA
“Dan oleh Dialah Ia memperdamaikan segala sesuatu dengan diri-Nya, baik yang ada di bumi, maupun yang ada di sorga, sesudah Ia mengadakan pendamaian oleh darah salib Kristus.” Kolose 1:20.
“Ada saat-saat pencobaan dan tekanan yang berat bagi mereka yang mengikuti Yesus. Namun, mereka ini melihat, dengan mata iman, Yesus di kayu salib Kalvari; dan khasiat darah Penebus yang tersalib itu cukup bagi setiap jiwa manusia. Tidak ada obat lain bagi jiwa yang lemah dalam kebutuhannya yang paling besar selain memandang ke kayu salib Kalvari. Mereka tidak dapat berbuat apa-apa selain meletakkan tangan mereka di tangan Kristus, dan berkata, Pimpinlah aku, tuntunlah aku. Mereka akan tergoda, bingung, dan terkadang putus asa; tetapi dengan iman mereka mendengar panggilan melalui kegelapan yang pekat dengan mengatakan, “Ikutlah Aku, dan kamu tidak akan berjalan dalam kegelapan tetapi akan memperoleh terang hidup.” RH 11 Desember 1883, par. 17.
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.” Colossians 1:20.
“There are times of sore trial and distress to those who follow Jesus. But these see, by an eye of faith, Jesus upon the cross of Calvary; and the infinite efficacy of the blood of a crucified Redeemer is sufficient for every human soul. There is no other remedy for the fainting soul in its greatest need than looking to the cross of Calvary. They can do nothing but place their hands in the hands of Christ, and say, Lead me, guide me. Tempted they will be, perplexed, and sometimes discouraged; but by faith they hear the call through the thick darkness saying, “Follow me, and ye shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” RH December 11, 1883, par. 17.***
