TAK SATU PUN HUKUM-NYA DAPAT DIBATALKAN MANUSIA
“Bangsa ini memuliakan Aku dengan bibirnya, padahal hatinya jauh dari pada-Ku.” Matius 15:8.
“Manusia tidak memiliki izin dari Allah untuk membatalkan satu pun perintah dari sepuluh hukum-Nya. Ia tidak memiliki izin untuk memimpin pikiran orang lain agar menyembah berhala, atau membuat hukum yang memaksakan ahli waris Allah untuk menyembah yang palsu. Tentang mereka yang melakukan hal ini, Allah berfirman, “Bangsa ini memuliakan Aku dengan bibirnya, dan memuliakan Aku dengan bibirnya, tetapi hati mereka jauh dari pada-Ku.” Mereka menempatkan perintah manusia setara dengan tuntutan ilahi; bahkan lebih lagi, mereka meninggikan Sabat palsu di atas Sabat dari perintah hukum keempat. Ketaatan mereka pada tuntutan buatan manusia membuat ibadah mereka batal demi hukum; tetapi Allah bersabar terhadap ketidaktahuan mereka sampai terang datang kepada mereka.” RH 8 Maret 1898, par. 11.

“Man has no permission from God to nullify one precept of the decalogue. He has no permission to lead the minds of others to bow to an idol, or to make laws compelling God’s heritage to worship that which is false. Of those who do this, God says, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoreth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.” They place the commandments of men on a level with the divine requirements; yea more, they exalt a spurious Sabbath above the Sabbath of the fourth commandment.
