MENYADARI KEADAAN DIRI, MEMPERBAIKI DIRI DAN BERTOBAT OLEH KUASA-NYA
“Oleh sebab itu, perbaikilah tingkah langkahmu dan perbuatanmu, dan dengarkanlah suara TUHAN, Allahmu, sehingga TUHAN menyesal akan malapetaka yang diancamkan-Nya atas kamu.” Yeremia 26:13.
“Meskipun kita, sebagai orang berdosa, berada di bawah kutukan hukum Taurat, namun Kristus, melalui ketaatan-Nya kepada hukum Taurat, telah mengklaim jasa kebenaran-Nya sendiri bagi jiwa yang bertobat. Untuk memperoleh kebenaran Kristus, orang berdosa perlu mengetahui pertobatan yang menghasilkan perubahan yang sepenuhnya dalam pikiran, jiwa, dan perbuatan. Karya kuasa yang mengubahkan ini harus dimulai dari hati, dan menunjukkan kuasanya melalui setiap kemampuan diri; tetapi manusia tidak mampu memunculkan pertobatan seperti ini, dan dapat mengalaminya hanya melalui Kristus, yang telah naik ke surga, memimpin yang tertawan, dan memberikan karunia kepada manusia.” 1SM 393.1.
“Jika engkau dapat melihat bahayamu, engkau mungkin akan tertolong, tetapi kuasa tipu daya telah menawanmu. Patahkanlah mantra itu dengan percaya kepada Kristus. Tempatkanlah dirimu di bawah perisai perlindungan-Nya. Raihlah kuasa-Nya. Inilah satu-satunya harapanmu.” 19LtMs, Lt 269, 1904, par. 5.
“Pertobatan dan hati yang hancur, serta pengampunan, hanya dapat diperoleh melalui korban penebusan Kristus. Engkau perlu bergaul dengan orang-orang yang senantiasa menerima limpahan kuasa Allah. Dengan menyerahkan jiwamu yang tak berdaya kepada Kristus, engkau akan menempatkan dirimu di tempat dimana Ia dapat bekerja bagimu dengan kuasa pembaharuan-Nya. Kristus tidak mengampuni siapa pun kecuali mereka yang bertobat. Dengan Roh Kudus-Nya, Ia bekerja atas pikiran dan hati hingga Ia membuat jiwa bertobat, dan kemudian pengampunan datang.” 19LtMs, Lt 269, 1904, par. 6.
“Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.” Jeremiah 26:13.
“Although as sinners we are under the condemnation of the law, yet Christ by His obedience rendered to the law, claims for the repentant soul the merit of His own righteousness. In order to obtain the righteousness of Christ, it is necessary for the sinner to know what that repentance is which works a radical change of mind and spirit and action. The work of transformation must begin in the heart, and manifest its power through every faculty of the being; but man is not capable of originating such a repentance as this, and can experience it alone through Christ, who ascended up on high, led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” 1SM 393.1.
“If you could see your peril, you might be helped, but a deceptive power holds you captive. Break the spell through belief in Christ. Place yourself under the shield of His protection. Lay hold of His power. This is your only hope.” 19LtMs, Lt 269, 1904, par. 5.
“Repentance and brokenness of heart, as well as forgiveness, are procured only through the atoning sacrifice of Christ. You need to be in association with those who are constantly receiving a rich measure of the power of God. By casting your helpless soul on Christ, you will place yourself where He can work for you with His renovating power. Christ pardons none but the penitent. By His Holy Spirit He works upon mind and heart until He makes the soul penitent, and then pardon comes.” 19LtMs, Lt 269, 1904, par. 6***
