UJIAN BAGI KITA
“Sebab itu TUHAN berfirman kepada Musa: “Berapa lama lagi kamu menolak mengikuti segala perintah-Ku dan hukum-Ku?” Keluaran 16:28.
“Sabat menarik garis pemisah antara kita dan dunia, tidak samar-samar, melainkan dengan warna yang jelas dan tegas. Bagi barangsiapa yang telah menerima terang kebenaran ini, Sabat adalah ujian; bukan dari manusia, melainkan ujian dari Allah. Sabatlah yang akan membedakan antara orang-orang yang melayani Allah dengan mereka yang tidak melayani-Nya; dan pada titik inilah akan muncul pertikaian besar terakhir antara kebenaran dan kesalahan. Semua orang yang mengaku menaati hukum Allah harus bersatu dalam ketaatan yang suci pada Sabat-Nya yang kudus.” 4LtMs, Ms 3, 1885, par. 3.
“… Sementara saudara-saudara kita di sini telah menerima kebenaran, namun mereka masih perlu terus-menerus maju sebelum mereka siap untuk pekerjaan yang akan Allah lakukan melalui mereka; bahwa kita memiliki pekabaran yang paling khidmat untuk diwartakan kepada dunia, yaitu meninggikan standar hukum Allah di hadapan dunia yang telah mengesampingkannya; dan bahwa di sini… masih terdapatlah kekurangan dalam jemaat dalam hal ini. Hari Sabat belum dipandang oleh umat dengan kesakralan yang sesuai dengan apa yang telah dinyatakan kepada kita dalam Alkitab. Bilamana mereka memelihara Sabat begitu longgar, maka mustahil bagi Allah untuk membiarkan berkat-Nya turun atas jemaat. Terlalu banyak yang telah dilakukan untuk merendahkan Sabat demi kenyamanan manusia, sebagai ganti meninggikan Sabat, sebagaimana yang telah dinyatakan dalam Firman Allah.” 4LtMs, Ms 7, 1886, par. 2.
“Di sinilah ujian akan datang bagi setiap orang yang akan memasuki kota Allah—apakah mereka akan menaati perintah-perintah Allah dan menghormati-Nya di hadapan mereka, atau apakah mereka akan melayani para penguasa. Dan jika umat kita menganggap iman mereka adalah iman yang mudah atau gampangan, dan dapat dimanipulasi sesuai keinginan mereka, wah, mereka akan memihak musuh.” 4LtMs, Ms 7, 1886, par. 6.
“And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?” Exodus 16:28.
“The Sabbath draws a separating line between us and the world, not faintly, but in plain, distinct colors. To those who have received the light of this truth, the Sabbath is a test; it is not a human requirement, but God’s test. It is what will distinguish between those who serve God and those who serve Him not; and upon this point will come the last great conflict between truth and error. All who profess to keep God’s law should stand united in the sacred observance of His holy Sabbath.” 4LtMs, Ms 3, 1885, par. 3.
“… while our brethren here had accepted the truth, yet there was to be a continual advancement on their part before they would be prepared for the work that God would do through them; that we have a most solemn message to proclaim to the world, which is to elevate the standard of God’s law before the world that is making it void; and that there was here … a defect in the church in this respect. The Sabbath was not regarded by the people with that sacredness that it is presented to us in the Bible. While they held the Sabbath so loosely, it was impossible for God to let His blessing rest upon the church. There has been too much done in the line of bringing the Sabbath down to man’s convenience rather than to bring the Sabbath up, as it is presented in the Word of God.” 4LtMs, Ms 7, 1886, par. 2.
“Now here is where the test is coming to every one who will enter the city of God—whether they will keep God’s commandments and His honor before them, or whether they will serve the powers that be. And if our people shall take the position their faith is a convenient faith, and that it can be manipulated according to their convenience, why, they will throw themselves on the side of the enemy.” 4LtMs, Ms 7, 1886, par. 6.***
