PELAYANAN SEBAGAI TUJUAN HIDUP SEJATI HAMBA-NYA

“Sebab seorang hamba yang dipanggil oleh Tuhan dalam pelayanan-Nya, adalah orang bebas, milik Tuhan. Demikian pula orang bebas yang dipanggil Kristus, adalah hamba-Nya.” 1 Korintus 7:22.

“Para pengikut Kristus telah ditebus untuk melayani. Allah kita telah mengajarkan bahwa tujuan hidup yang sejati adalah pelayanan. Kristus sendiri adalah seorang pekerja, dan kepada semua pengikut-Nya, Ia memberikan hukum pelayanan—pelayanan kepada Allah dan sesama manusia. Di sini, Kristus telah menyajikan kepada dunia suatu konsepsi kehidupan yang lebih tinggi daripada yang pernah mereka ketahui. Dengan hidup untuk melayani sesama, manusia dipersatukan dengan Kristus. Hukum pelayanan menjadi mata rantai yang mengikat kita kepada Allah dan sesama manusia.” COL 326.3.

“Kita semua adalah hamba Tuhan. Kita harus berkehendak untuk melaksanakan kehendak-Nya.” 19LtMs, Ms 150, 1904, par. 12.

“Allah menghendaki bukan sekadar pelayanan pekerjaan yang dibayar, melainkan pelayanan pribadi sebagai hamba Kristus. Tidaklah cukup jika manusia hanya memberikan harta mereka; Dia menghendaki mereka untuk memberikan diri mereka sepenuhnya kepada-Nya. Allah menghendaki pelayanan pribadi, apa pun pekerjaan dan panggilan yang dimiliki seseorang.” 4LtMs, Lt 7, 1883, par. 7.

“For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.” 1 Corinthians 7:22.

“Christ’s followers have been redeemed for service. Our Lord teaches that the true object of life is ministry. Christ Himself was a worker, and to all His followers He gives the law of service—service to God and to their fellow men. Here Christ has presented to the world a higher conception of life than they had ever known. By living to minister for others, man is brought into connection with Christ. The law of service becomes the connecting link which binds us to God and to our fellow men.” COL 326.3.

“We are all servants of God. It must be our will to carry out His will.” 19LtMs, Ms 150, 1904, par. 12.

“God demands not merely a business service for which you are paid, but a personal service as Christ’s servant. It is not enough that men give their means; He requires that they give themselves unreservedly to His service. God desires a personal service, whatever may be one’s business and calling.” 4LtMs, Lt 7, 1883, par. 7.
