STANDAR TABIAT YANG SEMPURNA DAN SATU PANDUAN HIDUP YANG TAK PERNAH SALAH
“Segala tulisan yang diilhamkan Allah memang bermanfaat untuk mengajar, untuk menyatakan kesalahan, untuk memperbaiki kelakuan dan untuk mendidik orang dalam kebenaran.” 2 Timotius 3:16.
“Saudara-saudari terkasih, kami ingin mengarahkan perhatian kalian kepada Alkitab. Diilhami Allah, ditulis oleh orang-orang kudus, Alkitab menunjukkan dengan sangat jelas dan tepat tugas-tugas orang-orang tua maupun muda. Alkitab meninggikan pikiran, melembutkan hati, dan memberikan kegembiraan serta sukacita kudus kepada jiwa. Alkitab menyajikan standar tabiat yang sempurna; Alkitab adalah panduan hidup yang tak pernah salah dalam segala situasi, bahkan hingga akhir perjalanan hidup. Jadikanlah Alkitab sebagai penasihatmu, yakni aturan hidupmu sehari-hari.” 5T 264.1.
“Firman Allah mencakup Kitab Suci Perjanjian Lama maupun Perjanjian Baru. Yang satu tidak lengkap tanpa yang lain. Kristus telah menyatakan bahwa kebenaran Perjanjian Lama adalah sama berharganya dengan kebenaran Perjanjian Baru.” COL 126.2.
“Selama dua ribu lima ratus tahun pertama sejarah manusia, tidak ada wahyu firman yang tertulis. Mereka yang telah diajar oleh Allah, mengomunikasikan langsung pengetahuan mereka kepada orang lain, dan itu diwariskan dari ayah ke anak, melalui generasi demi generasi berikutnya. Penyusunan firman tertulis dimulai pada zaman Musa. Wahyu-wahyu firman yang diilhami kemudian diwujudkan dalam sebuah kitab yang diilhami ilahi. Pekerjaan ini berlanjut selama periode panjang selama seribu enam ratus tahun—dari Musa, sejarawan pencatat penciptaan dan hukum Taurat, sampai kepada Yohanes, pencatat kebenaran Injil yang paling luhur.” GC ay.2.

“Dalam firman-Nya, Allah telah mempercayakan kepada manusia pengetahuan yang diperlukan untuk keselamatan. Kitab Suci harus diterima sebagai wahyu kehendak-Nya yang berotoritas dan sempurna. Kitab Suci adalah standar tabiat, pewahyu ajaran, dan penguji bagi pengalaman.” GC vii.1.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16.

The preparation of the written word began in the time of Moses. Inspired revelations were then embodied in an inspired book.
