SERANGKAIAN KEMENANGAN YANG DIKEHENDAKI-NYA
“Semuanya itu Kukatakan kepadamu, supaya kamu beroleh damai sejahtera dalam Aku. Dalam dunia kamu menderita penganiayaan, tetapi kuatkanlah hatimu, Aku telah mengalahkan dunia.” Yohanes 16:33.
“Meskipun banyak hasil kerja keras mereka kelihatan seolah belum tampak dalam kehidupan ini, para pekerja Allah memiliki janji-Nya yang pasti tentang keberhasilan akhir. Sebagai Penebus dunia, Kristus terus-menerus dihadapkan dengan kegagalan yang nyata. Ia tampak seolah tidak melakukan banyak pekerjaan yang ingin Ia lakukan dalam mengangkat dan menyelamatkan umat manusia. Agen-agen setan terus-menerus bekerja untuk menghalangi jalan-Nya. Namun Ia tidak putus asa. Di hadapan-Nya Ia selalu melihat hasil dari misi-Nya. Ia tahu bahwa kebenaran akhirnya akan menang dalam pertarungan melawan kejahatan, dan kepada para pengikut-Nya Ia pun berkata: “Semuanya itu Kukatakan kepadamu, supaya kamu beroleh damai sejahtera dalam Aku. Dalam dunia kamu menderita penganiayaan, tetapi kuatkanlah hatimu, Aku telah mengalahkan dunia.” [Yohanes 16:33.] Kehidupan para pengikut Kristus harus seperti kehidupan-Nya, serangkaian kemenangan yang tak terputus—yang meski seolah tidak terlihat demikian di sini, tetapi diakui di akhirat yang agung.” GW 514.2.
“Kemenangan kita sebagai orang percaya diperoleh melalui kasih karunia Kristus, yang dapat dan akan dilimpahkan-Nya kepada semua orang yang menaruh kepercayaan kepada-Nya. Inilah kabar baik yang Kristus ingin hiburkan bagi kita. Dalam segala kesengsaraan yang harus diterima anak Allah, apa pun keadaan yang harus dialaminya selama di dunia, ia dapat bersukacita dalam merenungkan kebenaran bahwa Kristus telah mengalahkan dunia.” ST 2 September 1897, par. 10.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
“While much of the fruit of their labor is not apparent in this life, God’s workers have His sure promise of ultimate success. As the world’s Redeemer, Christ was constantly confronted with apparent failure. He seemed to do little of the work which He longed to do in uplifting and saving. Satanic agencies were constantly working to obstruct His way. But He would not be discouraged. Ever before Him He saw the result of His mission. He knew that truth would finally triumph in the contest with evil, and to His disciples He said: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” [John 16:33.] The life of Christ’s disciples is to be like His, a series of uninterrupted victories—not seen to be such here, but recognized as such in the great hereafter.” GW 514.2.

This is the good news with which Christ would have us comforted.
